Patient Specific anatomic model

Patient-specific anatomical models are designed to improve visualisation, planning, and communication in complex veterinary cases. Created from diagnostic imaging, these models provide a tangible representation of the individual anatomy and may include osseous, vascular, or other region-specific structures depending on the case. They can assist with surgical planning, intraoperative reference, teaching, and communication with pet owners.

Bone model

Bone models are particularly useful for assessing spatial relationships, pre-contouring implants, and planning implant placement prior to surgery.

Example on the right: Dachshund thoracic limb model for pancarpal arthrodesis

Vascular model

Patient-specific vascular models can be valuable in cases where complex anatomy makes interpretation from standard imaging alone more difficult. A 3D model provides a tangible representation of the vascular anatomy, allowing improved appreciation of the spatial relationship between vessels and surrounding structures. This can assist with preoperative planning, surgical orientation, and identification of key anatomical constraints before entering theatre. It may also improve communication with both the surgical team and the client by making a complex lesion easier to understand.

Colour coding can also be incorporated to aid communication with owners

Display stand

Custom display stands are designed to support the presentation, handling, and orientation of selected anatomical models. They are particularly useful for vascular and demonstration models, helping improve stability and making the model easier to interpret during teaching, consultation, or client communication.

Cost

  • Turnaround time: 5 – 7 days for models alone; Up to 2 -3 weeks if colours and other post-processing is required

  • Small/ simple model e.g. bone: AUD$150

  • Complex model e.g. skull or vascular model: AUD$200

  • Color coding: AUD$100

  • Custom display stand: AUD$100
